Telcel prepaid customers in Mexico can check their balance using USSD codes, the Mi Telcel app, or the Telcel online portal. USSD codes work on any phone without internet and are free to dial.
Telcel has dedicated codes for main balance, data balance, and promotional balance on Amigo kits.

How to check your Telcel balance
- Open your phone dialer.
- Dial *000# for main balance, *264# for Amigo balance, or *133# for data.
- Press the call button and wait for the USSD response.

Mi Telcel app
The Mi Telcel app (available on Android and iOS) provides complete account management: real-time balance display, data usage graph, bill history, plan recommendations, and instant recharge via debit/credit card or OXXO.
Data balance vs account balance
Telcel separates your account balance (prepaid credit in MXN) from your data balance (remaining MB/GB in your active data plan). Dial *000# for account balance and *133# for data balance. Recharging with a data pack adds to your data balance; recharging with a talktime voucher adds to your main account balance.
Troubleshooting
- Ensure your phone is connected to the Telcel network (check for "Telcel" on your screen).
- Roaming: USSD codes may not work while roaming outside Mexico. Use the Mi Telcel app over WiFi instead.
- If a USSD code returns no response, restart your phone and try again.
- If you recently recharged, wait up to 30 minutes for the balance to update before checking.
