Available balance check methods
Airtel prepaid customers can check their balance using USSD codes, the Airtel Thanks app, or the Airtel self-care web portal. USSD codes are the fastest method and work on any phone without an internet connection.
Airtel has dedicated codes for main balance, data balance, talktime balance, and special offer details.

About Airtel balance checks
Airtel USSD codes explained
- `*123#`: The main balance check code. It shows your current prepaid account balance in INR, the validity date of your plan, and your talktime balance.
- `*121#`: The data and value-added services menu. From here you can check remaining data, subscribe to data packs, and manage VAS subscriptions.
- `*121*3#`: Dedicated talktime balance check. Shows available talktime and any special talktime (like bonus talktime from recharges).
- `*122#`: My Airtel offers menu. Lists all available recharge plans, data add-ons, and promotional offers available for your number.
Airtel Thanks app
The Airtel Thanks app (available on Android and iOS) provides a complete account management experience: real-time balance display, data usage graph, bill history, plan recommendations, and instant recharge via UPI, credit card, or net banking.
Balance transfer
Airtel prepaid customers can transfer talktime to other Airtel numbers using the Airtel Easy Transfer service. Dial *141# and follow the prompts, or use the Airtel Thanks app for a simpler interface. Transfer charges apply.
Data balance vs account balance
Airtel separates your account balance (main prepaid credit in INR) from your data balance (remaining MB/GB in your active data plan). Dial *123# for account balance and *121# for data balance. Recharging with a data pack adds to your data balance; recharging with a talktime voucher adds to your main account balance.
Troubleshooting
- Ensure your phone is connected to the Airtel network (check the carrier name on your screen).
- Roaming: USSD codes may not work while roaming outside India. Use the Airtel Thanks app over WiFi instead.
- If a USSD code returns no response, restart your phone and try again.
- If you recently recharged, wait up to 30 minutes for the balance to reflect before checking.
