Total Wireless uses tfdata as the standard APN
Total Wireless is a Tracfone brand that now operates on Verizon's network. The standard APN is tfdata. Some legacy SIMs may use vzwinternet.
If tfdata does not work after setup, try vzwinternet as a fallback before calling support.

If your Total Wireless SIM was activated after 2021, the APN is likely tfdata. Older SIMs may need vzwinternet.
Setup
Setup steps
- Go to Settings ? Mobile Network ? Access Point Names.
- Create a new APN profile.
- Set APN to tfdata. Leave username and password blank.
- If MMS fails, add the Tracfone MMSC and proxy from the table above.
- Save, select the profile, disable WiFi and toggle airplane mode.
- Test data in a browser first, then test MMS.

Total Wireless APN basics
Total Wireless phones typically receive APN settings over-the-air when the SIM is activated. Manual entry is needed after switching to an unlocked phone or after a factory reset.
Android path
Settings ? Network & Internet ? SIMs ? Access Point Names. Create a new profile with APN tfdata. Leave username and password blank.
iPhone path
Settings ? Cellular ? Cellular Data Network. Enter tfdata as the APN. MMS settings go in the MMS section below.
MMS setup
If picture messages do not work, set MMSC to http://mmsc.tracfone.com and MMS proxy to mms3.tracfone.com on port 80.
Fallback APN
A small number of Total Wireless users report that vzwinternet works better on newer 5G SIMs. If tfdata does not connect, try vzwinternet.
